Scientists at the Euro Mediterranean Biomedical Science Institute in Brindisi, Italy and other research centers throughout Italy, looked at postmenopausal women with Type 2 diabetes to learn the risk of bone fractures in women with both conditions. Their study, reported on in the Journal of Biological Regulatory Homeostasis Agents in January 2015, compared 18 postmenopausal women with Type 2 diabetes with 18 healthy women for three years. All participants were between the ages of 55 and 70.
