The McDougal diet is basically only eating starches as defined by Dr John Mcdougal. It’s a plant based eating protocol that is also called the Starch Solution.

It’s supposedly the cure for heart disease, diabetes, and all kinds of other bad stuff that happens when you eat a Western Diet.

This is definitely a step up from your typical American diet, but compared to meat and dairy it’s awful.

The problem with this video is that Dr. McDougal is somewhat specific when it comes to what foods he recommends (beans, rice, potatoes etc) but very vague when it comes to what foods to avoid (meat, dairy).

There is nothing wrong with eating chicken, beef, pork or anything that is actually just plain meat. The problem is that people have a broad definition of what meat could be.

Meat could be McDonalds hamburgers or chicken fried steak.

This is the same problem with dairy. Dairy could be raw milk (healthy) or it could be ice cream.
