Banana is a popular and delicious fruit that is not in most diabetic diet prescribed for diabetic patients due to the high content of free sugars. However, under-ripe bananas starch constitutes 80-90% of the carbohydrate content, which as the banana ripens changes into free sugars.
The recommended serving size for bananas for diabetics is one extra-small banana, which is a banana that is no more than 6 inches long.
